The third Manchester FA Grassroots annual awards ceremony 2017 recognised the achievements and contributions of the dedicated and inspirational volunteers from within grassroots football in Greater Manchester.

Huge congratulations goes to the club treasurer Shaun Wilkinson and club secretary Sara Brady, Shaun was nominated and won the long service award, while Sara Brady was Volunteer of the year finalist.

The Stockport Vikings family can't thank Shaun and Sara enough for all their efforts and hard work. They have helped countless people progress and develop as well as carrying out all the tasks that make the club tick over with a smile and a positive outcome for all.

Sara and Shaun always go the extra mile and have given up so much time over the years to help develop Stockport Vikings football club.

We couldn't think of a more fitting title for the awards.

Well done to our "Grassroots Heros" Shaun and Sara.

Goalkeeping Sessions Every Wednesday 6.30- 7.30 At Burgage Rugby Club

The Goalkeeper is an essential part of any team and is based on sound techniqueVikings sessions cover a large range of techniques to help our keepers improve all aspects of their game, from ball handling skills to footwork, from distribution and diving to dealing with crosses and high balls .

The sessions are delivered by our head keeper coach John Brimble who has over 20 years playing experience, as well as being a fully licensed Fa Coach, with FA goalkeeping and outfield level 2 coaching badges, his knowledge and understanding of the game has helped the Vikings keepers develop at a remarkable pace. We aim to help every goalkeeper who comes to the sessions to reach their potential, through individually planned one to one sessions and high tempo group sessions. Its a great hour for the players to develop their skills in the hardest position to play in sport. Are you good enough to be No 1?

Stockport Vikings Raiders U11's played at the Mcfc Citizens weekend Tournament to welcome Pep Guardiola to the club. The tournament took place at the amazing CITY FOOTBALL ACADEMY. It was a fantastic day out and a great experience for the squad to have a taste of such quality facilities. On the pitch the boys did themselves proud going all the way to the semi final. Off the pitch the boys got to meet ex city players and even got a seat on the City Coach. Big thanks to Mcfc for inviting the team and arranging a great day.
